ABOUT BVC

Biometrics Visions Computing

Biometrics Visions Computing (BVC) is a research initiative established in 2014 to advance research in biometrics, computing and related intelligent technologies.

BVC provides an environment for fundamental and applied research, bringing together researchers and students to investigate computational approaches to real-world problems and develop innovative solutions across multiple areas of science and engineering.

OUR STORY

Building Research Capacity Since 2014

BVC began as a research laboratory focused strongly on biometric recognition, image processing and computing. Its research activities have since expanded across artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine and deep learning, intelligent systems, Internet-of-Things applications, signal processing and other interdisciplinary areas.

An important part of BVC's work has been the development of researchers. Graduate and undergraduate students have carried out research through BVC, contributing to scholarly publications, datasets, algorithms and research projects.

Prof. Ogechukwu Iloanusi

BVC is directed by Prof. Ogechukwu Iloanusi, whose research spans biometrics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, image processing and intelligent computing systems.

Through BVC, she has supervised graduate and undergraduate researchers and supported research leading to publications, datasets, algorithms and other scholarly contributions.
