Engr. Ifeanyi Okala
Graduate Research Collaborator
Ifeanyi Okala is an independent researcher working at the intersection of deep learning and healthcare, with a focus on applying computer vision and signal processing to mental health monitoring. His current research interests include image-based classification of psychiatric conditions using wearable sensor data and the emerging area of world models, particularly their algorithmic foundations and potential for generalizable reasoning in resource-constrained environments. He is the founder of NSK.ai, an AI learning community with more than 2,000 members across Africa, and co-founder of CforMentalHealth, a nonprofit focused on mental health awareness across the continent. Through the Udara Project, he has trained more than 20,000 participants across 30 countries.
